We are learning to use descriptive writing and sensory details to write a poem about spring.

Last day to finish and print.
Free choice time from the blog after you have printed.

Open Google Classroom and open the entry Spring Poem. Using Google Sheets, insert lines of poetry into your word boxes. You are allowed to change the Spring word art fill, line color, and font. You may need to resize or move your word boxes. You may also move your Spring word art as necessary.

When your story is done it is time to listen to the story.

  • Can you hear your recording?
  • Did you accidentally record your last name? Please, rerecord. We can't use student last names.
  • Delete a recording if you don't like it and try again.

Use the steps to record using your microphone today.
Remember to use preview.

    Grade 1- Mother's Day

    We are learning to use descriptive words in our writing.

    Every family is different. Chose a flower:
    My Mom Is, My Grandma Is, My Aunt Is, I love you because...

    On each petal, write and/or draw a descriptive word about your loved one.

    Write in pencil first, then you may trace over with marker. Lightly color your flower petals with colored pencils and/or crayons.

    After you are done coloring, cut out your flower. I will give you a piece of magnet tape to attach to the back.
